Sean Fogarty, GPEC’s Vice President of International Business Development, has 24 years of experience across a range of industries and countries of which 18 years involved international trade and investment promotion with the States of California and Washington. For 15 years, Sean led efforts to expand exports and attract foreign direct investment as the State of Washington Trade and Investment Representative in Taiwan. He also served for seven years as President of the American State Offices Association (ASOA), a grouping of all the states with Representative Offices in Taiwan leading efforts to build mutually beneficial partnerships with internal and external stakeholders.
With over 24 years in foreign countries, Sean has learned that successfully building international relations involves understanding and aligning shared interests, which often starts by leading with value and earning the trust and respect of public and private partners to foster mutually beneficial relationships. As ASOA President, he helped build a platform for the association’s member states in Taiwan to collaborate and partner with public and private partners including U.S. and Taiwan government agencies and industry associations to leverage their support for our trade and investment promotion efforts.
His deep breadth of experience based in foreign markets successfully promoting trade and investment, along with an established network of contacts, will broaden the region’s brand leading to increased business attraction and enhanced commercial and investment ties between Greater Phoenix and international partners.
