GPEC President and CEO Chris Camacho Reappointed to Secretary of Commerce’s Investment Advisory Council

Camacho was first named to the Investment Advisory Council in 2019, serving a two-year term
Greater Phoenix Economic Council President & CEO, Chris Camacho, was reappointed to the Secretary of Commerce’s Investment Advisory Council (IAC), operating under the current Secretary of Commerce, Gina Raimondo.
“It’s a great privilege to work alongside the talented and diverse group of regional and national business leaders in the U.S. Investment Advisory Council, pursuing strategies that ensure the United States remains an attractive global leader for international business,” said Camacho. “I want to thank Secretary Raimondo for allowing me to continue my work within the council as we advocate for this critical component of the U.S. and global economy.”
The U.S. Investment Advisory Council advises the Secretary of Commerce on the development and implementation of strategies and programs to attract and retain foreign direct investment in the United States and on ways to support the United States in remaining the world’s preeminent recipient of foreign direct investment.
It was first founded by U.S. Department of Commerce Secretary Penny Pritzker with up to 20 leaders selected from across the United States to serve. The IAC advises the Secretary of Commerce on U.S. government policies related to FDI, identifies and recommends programs and policies to attract and retain FDI and recommends ways to support the U.S. remaining a world preeminent destination for FDI.
