A conversation with Phoenix Relocation Source Founder and Team Lead Jonas Funston 

Tell us about your company: 

Jonas Funston: Phoenix Relocation Source is a service-based, residential real estate-backed venture with an emphasis on relocation services that serves the entire Metro Phoenix area. The epicPHX Real Estate Group and our team of client concierges are dedicated to taking a diagnostic, client-centric approach when helping employees, individuals and families move to Greater Phoenix. When working with HR departments and their employees, we refer to our services as an EPIC Employee Experience because we believe in exceeding expectations. Oftentimes, our clients want to move to Phoenix to improve their quality of life and we are here to be their guide! 

What city in Arizona is your company located in? 

Funston: Chandler 

How did your company get started? 

Funston: Having a background in high-end hospitality prior to entering real estate over 14 years ago, I was shocked by the lackluster level of services that seemed commonplace in our industry. From that point forward, it became my mission to provide an EPIC client experience. That is why I created the epicPHX Real Estate Group, the backbone of Phoenix Relocation Source.  

Explain why you chose Greater Phoenix to build your company: 

Funston: The best part of being in the relocation industry here in Greater Phoenix is that we are among a diverse group of people, industries and ideas. We are quite literally a melting pot! I am extremely proud of the re-birth of Greater Phoenix and privileged to be a part of its future. 

What makes your product unique and different? 

Funston: Our Client Concierge performs a deep dive needs assessment with every client. This can be as simple as a list of the best places to eat all the way to what companies are hiring and what school to enroll their children into. From there, they are intentionally paired with an agent on our team that our concierge feels will be the best complement for the client’s goals, personality and lifestyle.  

The goal is not to service the client for one specific transaction but to have them as a client for life by providing exceptional service during and after the close of escrow. We don’t just meet expectations we strive to exceed them any way we can by bringing hospitality to relocation and real estate!  

What is the best thing about having your business in Greater Phoenix? 

Funston: Even though Phoenix is one of the top five largest cities in the United States, there is a presence of small business support here that is unprecedented. There is a sense of camaraderie between small and big businesses that consistently adds to the growth of Greater Phoenix by way of mentorship and collaboration. 

In your opinion, why should someone build a career in Greater Phoenix? 

Funston: From a business standpoint, Phoenix is no longer a one-trick pony. With an abundance of opportunity, mentorship and rate of expansion, we are eliminating glass ceilings all while maintaining a reasonable cost of living and quality of life. 

What are three words you would use to describe the business community in Greater Phoenix? 

Funston: Innovative, collaborative, intentional 

Are you currently hiring? If so, what types of positions do you need filled now? What about in the future? 

Funston: Yes, we are always looking to add like-minded, client-first agents to the team. We will also be growing our client concierge team come first quarter of 2020.
