Tell us about yourselves:

Tim Bourcet: I am GPEC’s Vice President of Corporate Development and Community Affairs. I am an Arizona native, have worked at GPEC for over eight years and am a proud Sun Devil. 

Casey Gilchrist: I am the Senior Director of our International Business Development Team and have been with GPEC for one year. I relocated from Virginia where I also practiced economic development at the local level. I have settled in the City of Phoenix, which I adore, and look forward to planting permanent roots this year. 

Why should people listen to ‘Greater Phoenix A to Z’?

Tim: This will be a fun but informative podcast on all things happening in Greater Phoenix including economic development, arts and culture, and current events. 

Casey: It is an approachable show solely focused on topics relevant to Greater Phoenix. If you live in our region, are planning to move here, or visit often, I hope this podcast makes you laugh and helps you discover something new. 

How would you best describe Casey?

Tim: Casey is the perfect combo of style and grace. 

How would you best describe Tim?

Casey: I would describe Tim as distinctively multifaceted. 

What are some of your favorite things and places in Greater Phoenix?

Tim: On a given day, you’ll see me attending a Suns game at Footprint Center, catching a show at Crescent Ballroom or The Van Buren, and stuffing my face with tacos and burritos from Carolina’s. 

Casey:  

  • Favorite live music venues: Chars LIVE (Phoenix) and Kazimierz Wine & Whiskey Bar (Scottsdale)
  • Favorite bookstore: Changing Hands (Phoenix)
  • Favorite coffee spot: Lux Central (Phoenix), Press Coffee (anywhere) and Provision (Central Phoenix location)
  • Favorite place to buy sneakers: Manor (Phoenix)
  • Favorite golf course: Papago Golf Club (Phoenix)
  • Favorite restaurants: Richardson’s (Phoenix), AZ Wilderness (Downtown Phoenix) and Francine (Scottsdale)
Tell us a fun fact about Greater Phoenix:

Tim: Maricopa County is the fourth largest county by population in the nation at 4.6M people. 

Casey: Allegedly, the Tequila Sunrise was created at the Arizona Biltmore Resort. 

What’s one place in Greater Phoenix you really want to visit?

Tim: Space Age Restaurant in Gila Bend 

Casey: Exploring the Asian District in Mesa is still on my to-do list! 

Who’s your dream podcast guest?

Tim: The greatest professional wrestler of all time, the Nature Boy Ric Flair (woooooo!) 

Casey: The GOAT, Diana Taurasi from the Phoenix Mercury—I am manifesting this! 

What are some future podcast subjects you’re excited to discuss?

Tim: Best taco shop in the valley, favorite brewery and best hole in the wall restaurant. 

Casey: I am looking forward to reuniting with Tim to discuss the Greater Phoenix food scene. I love recording episodes with him, and we both love local food.
