Meet Gilbert-based artist Shalini Pachauli featured in our art exhibit ‘Greater Phoenix has it all!’

What do you love about being an artist in the Greater Phoenix area? 

I just love the fact that Arizona, particularly, Greater Phoenix has plenty of opportunities for aspiring artists like me. I like the hosts of galleries both private and public, that support emerging as well as established artists to showcase their work. This is very motivating and inspiring for me as an artist.

What role do you think the arts & culture plays in our community as a whole? 

Art and culture provide a platform where people come together as a community to share their experiences, views and ideas. Art is a medium to express and we get a chance to share different cultures that we come from. This further helps the community to understand the diversity that exists globally.

What is your favorite art venue/event in the Greater Phoenix area? 

Having moved to the Greater Phoenix area recently from California, so far, Gilbert Visual Artist League’s?annual juried exhibition is my favorite art event. One of my artworks was selected and I got to physically meet and appreciate many artists in Greater Phoenix.

GPEC’s exhibitions are one of my favorite too. It is close to my heart because last year’s virtual exhibition last year was my first exhibit here in Greater Phoenix.
