Tell us about your company:
Taylor Hudson: For over 100 years, we have teamed up with clients across the country and around the globe to transform spaces and empower people. We deliver premium experiences for organizations and people using a creative mix of products and finishes, a collaborative ideation process, and a strong focus on purpose. Headquartered in Minneapolis, with offices in Wisconsin, Illinois and Arizona, we are passionate about providing world-class workspaces. Atmosphere Commercial Interiors is a part of Omni Workspace Company.
What city in Arizona is your company located in?
Hudson: Phoenix and Tucson
How did your company get started?
Hudson: In Phoenix, Atmosphere began as Walsh Bros, a small typewriter shop, founded in 1919 by three enterprising brothers from Philadelphia: Peter, Phillip and Richard “Dick” Walsh. In 1935, Walsh Bros. expanded to Tucson to serve southern Arizona’s mining communities. Four years later, the company began selling office furniture, and in 1941, Walsh Bros. became an authorized Steelcase office furniture dealer. In 2008, Walsh Bros. and USBI, another local office furniture business, were purchased by Target as part of an acquisition and expansion for Target Commercial Interiors. Target sold Target Commercial Interiors in 2015 to Omni Workspace Company, and the business was renamed Atmosphere Commercial Interiors.
Explain why you chose Greater Phoenix to build your company:
Hudson: We opened a new showroom and work lab in the vibrant Roosevelt Row district of downtown Phoenix in late 2016. Housed in a former Packard showroom, the environment is designed to nurture physical, cognitive and emotional well-being, and is thoughtfully aligned with our organizational purpose, providing the optimal climate for engagement.

What is the best thing about having your business in Greater Phoenix?
Hudson: We love being in Greater Phoenix because it’s our home! For the past 100 years, we’ve enjoyed building lasting relationships in the surrounding business community. And there’s just something special about being in downtown! It’s impossible to not be inspired by the vibrant culture of Roosevelt Row. Art, music, tacos… what’s not to love?
